Shacharut Association develops and operates a variety of programs to promote the community awareness in the city.
The programs development is through the combination of community perception with educational - professional relevant approach to each audience and action (perception of pedagogy ecological informal education, perception of work with young people, Sustainability etc.) plans appeal to all residents of Yokneam, from infants and families through elementary age children, young people and families.
We continue to develop programs and new areas based on the needs of the community and invite community activists to use the organization as a platform to expand the activity in town
The organization employs a team of approximately 30 people from the education and community fields, most of them are residents of the city.
Shacharut Association was established in 2006 by the community of Shachar, a group of young people who live as a community in Yokneam Illit.
- Increasing mutual responsibility of the residents and institutions toward the community.
- Reducing social disparities, particularly disparities regarding to education and culture.
- Creating an opportunity for personal, professional and social development of our employees and activists for the sake of realization of our social vision.
- Create partnerships with other organizations, and Cooperative communities, local and national, to promote the vision of the organization at the national level
Preschool - The association has established a Kindergarten for babies and toddlers aged six months to four, which
runs under the spirit of kibbutz education - a concept of ecological-community education agenda. In addition to the
daily Schedule of the kindergarten, it operates activities with parents, activities during the holidays, garden activities, and calls parents accompanied by an educational consultant throughout the year
"Hed" nort for young adulds - Shacharut runs a program for young people who underwent a mental crisis, and offers them to takepart in significant national service (Sherut Leumi), with independent housing in the community and profetional support in education, leisure and volunteering.
Year of community service (Shnat Sherut) - aimed at young people from around the country who are looking to make significant service for the community, while connecting to young community, and Learning specific domains as leadership and Israelie society.
People with disabilities – "Shacharut community support " is a program designed to accompany the Yokneam residents (ages 18-65) who have faced and are facing emotional crises . The program offers support one's in his home, by social workers and counselors. The escort includes emotional support, empowerment, and practical
guidance of everyday skills.
Sustainability - The Association runs various programs in sustainability, including environmental education in educational settings like kindergartens and schools, construction and maintenance of community gardens, public events (exchange markets, farmers market and local producers, etc.) and community projects in consumption. In Oct. 2013, a local sustainability center was established by Shacharut in Yokneam Ilit.
Community Walfare - The Association runs various programs (Holocaust survivors, senior citizens, families and individuals with special needs etc.
Erez Alef – co-director. Married and a father to Alma, Yair and Nathan. A member of Shachar community. Accompanies communities across the country, teaching and learning with young groups.
Yael Shostak - Pascal - co-director, Married to Benny and a mother to Shira and Evyatar. A member of Shachar community group. Believes that the best way for amendment, is the Joint action that is made with humility and commitment. Graduate Preparatory Course Rabin #2, BA in Education and Sociology, and an MA in Organizational Sociology.
Noam Chen - Director of "Carmel Kindergarten". Married and a mother to three children, Member of Kibbutz Gvat . BA in Early Childhood Education, learning systems management program in early childhood education at "Seminar Hakibbutzim" .
Adi Elmaleach - Associate Director of "Hed-North" program. Married, and mother to two children.
Yamit Erez - coordinator of "sustainability". Married to Shachar and a mother to Maayan and Aviv. Believes that revolutions come from true joy. Belives in Community and wants to believe that our children will have a beautiful, clean and pleasant world to live in. BA in Israel studies and art . Graduate a community environmental coordinators course of the Ministry of Environment and Shadmot, and a course of Heschel Center for sustainability coordinators in communities. Additionally, operates a business "Naim Lehakir " art on the walls.
